The biodiesel is a kind of renewable energy source which have some advantages such as clean, environmental friendly. In so many promising raw material for the production of biodiesel, microalgae has many superiorities like:wide variety, high photosynthesis efficiency and strong ability of fatty acid synthesis and so on, which make the research of microalgae producing lipid as the hot point. This paper take three kinds of microalgae:Scenedesmus obliquus, Euglena gracilis, Phaeodactylum tricornutum as the research object. We not only studied the effects of four carbon sources, i.e. glucose. NaHCO3, sodium acetate and glycerin but also studied the effects of their respective initial concentrations on the growth and lipid accumulation. The other hand, we studied the effects of photoperiod on the growth and lipid accumulation of Scenedesmus obliquus. The main conclusion as following:(1) In the four carbon sources, glucose is the best carbon source in promoting the growth of Scenedesmus obliquus and Euglena gracilis, but glycerin is the best carbon source in promoting the growth of Phaeodactylum tricornutum.(2) In the three kinds of microalgae, Scenedesmus obliquus is the most ideal microalgae in producing lipid.(3) The biomass of Scenedesmus obliquus, Euglena gracilis and Phaeodacty-lum tricornutum is not in line with the concentration of carbon source, and there is little difference in each concentration of carbon source.(4) The extension of lighting time is shorten the growth cycle, increased the biomass and lipid production in great degree.(5) In the different culture conditions, Scenedesmus obliquus can reach the biggest biomass of4.052g/L and the biggest lipid production of1.602g/L in the best condition which is40g/L of glucose and the all day light.
