Byproduct gas, one of the most important secondary energy, accounts for about30%of the total secondary energy in iron and steel company. And it is of great significance for iron-steel enterprise to take effective means to accurately predict and scientific schedule gas resources, so as to reduce energy consumption per ton of steel, to decrease gas radiation as well as to improve enterprise efficiency. This paper analyzes the characteristics of gas system production, consumption and buffering in iron-steel enterprise systematically; sets up two different scheduling models aiming at An-steel’s particular case; and develops the gas management system software. All of these efforts have been made to provide theoretical basis and analysis tool for iron-steel enterprise to gain reasonable use and optimal schedule of gas. The main work of this paper is as follows:(1) Analyzed the characteristics of gas system in iron-steel enterprise. This paper divides gas system into three parts, including the output characteristics, the consumption characteristics and the buffering characteristics of byproduct gas. The output characteristics analyzes the events and states that have effects on blast furnace, coke oven and converter production, and proposes the dynamic models of gas generation in different states respectively. The consumption characteristics mainly analyzes the gas using characteristics of the gas user in iron-steel enterprise, and proposes the dynamic model of gas consumption respectively. The buffering users characteristics analyzes the function of the buffering users. The proposed dynamic models are served as forecasting models to predict the quantity of gas generation and consumption.(2) Proposed the gas scheduling model. This paper builds up two gas scheduling models according to An-steel’s actual situation. First, it proposes a mathematical optimization scheduling model based on linear programming method. This model not only gives full play to the function of the buffering user, but also takes the gas ratio regulation of mixed gas user into account; which offers guidance for converter gas recovery. Second, the paper proposes a gas scheduling model based on heuristic rule. This model considers the effect that the pipe network structure of An-steel’s gas system has on scheduling, and regulates gas fluctuation based on certain rules so that it can regulate the gas fluctuation and balance the pipe network pressure rapidly.(3) Designed and developed the gas management software. This paper designs an develops gas system management software based on the established prediction model and scheduling model.Through the software realizes gas forecast and scheduling functions.The gas system management software considers the system performance, database design, interface and module design etc comprehensively. In system operation, it takes the operational performance, security and operability into account. In addition, it validates the credibility and accuracy of the system based on the historical data.
