Abstract


Objective To analyze the content of high sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)inelderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in acute exacerbationperiod(AECOPD)combined with type2diabetes mellitus(T2DM) in this article,and to explore the relationship between the variation of hs-CRP and clinicalsignificance in the elderly patients suffering from AECOPD combined with T2DM.Methods50cases of elderly patients suffering from AECOPD combined with T2DMand50elderly patients suffering from AECOPD were selected, and the hs-CRP, partialpressure of oxygen(PO2), fasting plasma glucose(FPG), white blood cell count(WBC),and erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR)were detected.Results Hs-CRP in the group of AECOPD combined with T2DM were higher thanthose in AECOPD group(P<0.01), and the PO2was lower than in AECOPD group(P<0.01),there was no significant difference on WBC between the two groups.Thepositive rates of hs-CRP,WBC,ESR in AECOPD combined with T2DM group werehigher than those in AECOPD group(P<0.01,P<0.05,P<0.05)and there wassignificant difference on these parameters(P<0.01,P<0.01).Hs-CRP was positivelycorrelated with FPG,ESR in AECOPD combined with T2DM group(P<0.01,P<0.05).Conclusion The increase of hs-CRP indicates that the inflammation is moresusceptible in the group of AECOPD combined with T2DM,and T2DM mayaggravated the inflammation in elderly patients suffering from AECOPD. Hs-CRP can be used as one of preferential indexes to reflect the inflammation,and it is ofclinical significance to understand the disease and treatment in elderly patientssuffering from AECOPD combined with T2DM.It remains to be further studied thatwhether there is a link between hs-CRP and the specific inflammatory factors.
