Abstract

Objective:To set up the rat model of chronic intermittent hypoxia(CIH)in normalpressure and study the relationships between CIH and Gastro-esophagealreflux disease(GERD) and the expression of Interleukin-6(IL-6) andhigh-sensitivity C reactive protein(hs-CRP) on rat’s esophagus.Methods:Twenty-four sex maturation male Sprague-Dawley rat were randomlyfall into unhandled control group(UC group, normal feeding for4weeks),CIH group (CIH for4weeks), Removal of hypoxia group (RHgroup, normal feeding for4weeks after CIH for4weeks). Determined thePH(potential of hydrogen)values and observed the expression of IL-6andhs-CRP on the inferior segment esophagus.Results:1.In CIH group the PH values were significantly lower (p<0.05) thanthose in UC group, but in RH group these changes were not significant.2.In CIH group, the esophagus had happened obviously inflammation changes, but those changes were not obvious in UC and RH groups.3.The levels of IL-6and s-CRP of esophagus were significantly higher(p<0.05) than UC group, but in RH group these changes were not significant(p>0.05).Conclusion:CIH may descend the PH values of esophagus, induce the esophagus’apparent inflammation change and advance the levels of IL-6and hs-CRPof esophagus, but all those changes can be removed by re-oxygen.
