Abstract


The reform of higher education is on the way along with the Economic andsocial development. General education appeared at the right moment along with theconcept of Holistic Education and Quality Education. We make a general survey of thereform of the general curriculum in china after the period of social reform andopenness. It seems that there are few researches about the general curriculum innormal universities.This study analyzes the reform of the general curriculum in domestic and foreignuniversities, setting the philosophy, objective, system and the type of the curriculumfor us. Focus Northeast Normal University for example to set the philosophy,objective, principle, structure, system, teaching arrangements, organizational forms ofthe general curriculum to us. It attempts to draw some problems of the reform andpropose some strategies to help Chinese higher education. The questionnaire consistsof six dimensions, such as popularity of the concept, the expectations of thecurriculum, the satisfaction degree of the setting, the demands of the setting, the statusof the implementation, and improvement suggestions.Comprehensive other related investigation results and the study of northeastnormal university.We found that there are some problems of the reform in normaluniversities. The general curriculum doesn’t reflect enough universal and humanistic.The system of general education is not perfect. The relationship between generaleducation and professional education is ambiguous. The implementation effectivenessis bad.As a result, normal universities should pay attention to the following aspects:Make deep understanding of the essence of general education. Highlight the uniquerole of general education fully. Make reasonable handling of the relationship betweengeneral education and professional education. Enhance the status of art, psychologyand religious curriculum.Combine universality, humanities and application of thegeneral curriculum. Establish an impeccable general curriculum system. Complete theelectoral system, the evaluation and supervision mechanism of general curriculum.
