Abstract


LLL TV is a sensitive device which works under the low light. With the development of night vision technology, LLL TV with its simplicity and concealment obtains more and more attention, it is active in the military, aerospace, marine and other areas, and it is a hot research field of night vision in recent years.Under the support of the "12th Five-Year" project, our laboratory is engaged in the low light and infrared fusion project. Because the dim light sensor is affected by the various interferences presented in the process of acquiring image data, the LLL image will produce significant random flicker noise, which making the shimmer image with the poor contrast lower signal-to-noise ratio, unclear image level, so it has a serious impact on the effect of the low light and infrared fusion. Therefore, it’s so critical to improve the quality of the shimmer image.This paper expounds the light level television images of real-time noise reduction processor’s hardware features, and a new noise reduction algorithm combining the adaptive temporal recursive filter based on a two-way motion detection and the fast median filtering. Experimental results show that, the noise reduction processing algorithms in this paper has a good output in the small FPGA-based board, the filtering effect has obvious advantages compared to the conventional filtering algorithms, which meets the requirements of real-time noise reduction processing.The article includes the development of night vision technology; The characteristics of LLL TV image noise as well as common time domain, airspace noise reduction algorithm; Using VHDL language to write image noise reduction algorithm; Complete the overall design of the FPGA-based hardware and software structure; Through a large number of experiments, use the Matlab software to finish subjective and objective evaluation of the overall design of the LLL image noise reduction effect.
