Abstract


Taking domestic lack by far of research in mid-infrared laser crystal and lots of actual demand in the military, medical and civil fields into account. Ho:BaY2F8polycrystalline materials have been obtained by co-precipitation method. Many influencing factors in experiment have been discussed, including concentration of the acid, stirring temperature and time, precipitating agent and calcination time. Samples of the product have been analysised by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy, then the optimal process parameters and doping concentration for highest upconversion efficiency have been obtained. Ho:BaY2F8crystal have been obtained by Czochralski method. Many factors for product quality have been discussed, including the choice of the seed crystal and temperature gradient. Samples of the product have been analysised by X-ray diffraction, absorption spectrum and fluorescence spectroscopy. The selection of growth conditions have been considered.
