For increasingly sturdy defense system in modern military warfare, penetrationammunitions for penetrating concrete targets get more and more attention. Penetratingwarhead is using two main types: kinetic energy penetration warhead and series compositepenetration warhead. Because of being affected by speed, etc., the kinetic energy projectilelikely to occur ricochet phenomenon with a large angle, when it penetrates targets. While inthe case of projectile aslant striking the target, the tandem warhead penetration is still able tostrike targets effectively. In order to improve the hole diameter of pre-shaped charge openingthe concrete goal, This paper presents a new type of quincunx liner shaped charge. In the roleof detonation power, it can form explosive formed projectile with a tail, which ischaracterized by a stable flight, effective flight distance and strong penetration ability.On the basis of shaped charge and tail type EFP technical literature, this paper useLS-DYNA simulation software to simulate and analyze the Quincunx Liner formation ofcohesive energy penetrator by combining shaped effect theory. The curves of velocity andeffective flight distance are obtained. This paper discusses the impact of structural factors onQuincunx Liner shaped charge performance, such as shaped charge liner cone angle, thickness,gap distance, petal radius and charge aspect ratio, etc. Among them, the greatest impact isliner cone angle.To further study the power of Quincunx Liner Shaped Charge, by using the structuralparameters of liner optimal combination obtained before, and ALE fluid-solid couplingalgorithm, Explosively Formed Projectile penetrating the concrete targets is simulated toverify the damage power. It can achieve the desired objectives. The results can provide areference for the relevant development work.
