Abstract


Dynamic wheel load detecting has important implications in railway transportation. In order to ensure the traffic safety of train, it is essential to develop a kind of dynamic wheel load detecting equipment which can detect the wheel load of train.This paper developed a new type of dynamic wheel load detecting equipment. The principle of this equipment is that transforms the slope of the rail to the displacement of the laser spot by a optical path. The changes in the small slope of rail were caused by the wheel load of train, and the position of the laser spot was detected by position sensitive detec-tor. The wheel load was detected by detecting the position of the laser spot. The wheel load detecting sensing device, which based on this prin-ciple, can be conveniently and quickly installed on the rail. And this de-vice can avoid the current on the rail, because the core parts of this device do not contact the rail directly.The paper mainly focuses on the following aspects:1. With the help of the existing rail ejection test bench, finite ele-ment analysis software was used to analysis the deflection response of the rail under different wheel load and wheel speed. The slope change rule of the rail was calculated by the deflection of the rail. These data provided basic data for the design of the dynamic load detecting equipment.2. The optical path of the detection equipment was designed. The ti-ny change of the slope of the rail could be transformed to comparatively larger displacement of laser spot. The relationship between rail’s slope changes and displacement of laser spot was calculated.3. The processing circuit of the position sensitive detector was de-signed, the auto-zero circuit was also designed. The relationship between processing circuit’s output and position of laser spot was calculated.4. In order to prove the efficiency and reliability of experimental da-ta acquisition, a data acquisition and velocity measurement system was designed. 5. The measuring results of the dynamic load detecting equipment under different velocity and load were analyzed.
