As the source of the life,Water is closely related to human daily life and production,andthe importance of water goes without saying. With the developing of society, water shortage isincreasingly apparent. Agricultural irrigation is a large proportion of the total waterconsumption. Therefore, water-saving irrigation is vigorously promoted. Intelligent applicationof water-saving irrigation greatly improves the precision of irrigation. In the paper, in order tofacilitate the user’s management, two-way communication is used in the intelligent water-saving irrigation system to achieve remote monitoring of soil moisture and systems componentfailure.In recent years, GSM network is more widely used in industrial and agriculturalproduction with the development of GSM network. The system built on the basis of GSMnetwork is low input costs, simple operation, and stable performance, and will be morewidely used in industrial and agricultural remote monitoring. In the paper,the remotemonitoring unit is designed based on SMS of GSM network service to achieve remotemonitoring.The structure and operating principles of GSM network are detailed in the paper. In theunit, the real-time monitoring of multiple sensors has been achieved. Managers could knowexactly the real-time soil moisture and the working conditions of the main components of thesystem by receiving a short message from GSM mode. The automatic control of soil moisture iscompleted by GSM module based on detected the detection of soil moisture. Managers couldget real-time soil moisture data by calling or sending instructions, and do mandatory action. Thesystem parameter could be set by software. The unit is designed by modular design, includingsoftware module and hardware module. Module-design idea not only reduces the workload ofwriting and debugging programs, but also find the source of the error. It is a great help forrealization of Intelligent Remote control of water-saving system.
