Abstract


Aimes: To investigate the expression of MACC1protein in colorectal cancer, colorectaladenoma, normal colorectal tissue, and analysis the correlation with development and livermetastasis of colorectal cancer.Methods: The expression of MACC1protein was detected by SABC immunohistochemicalmethod in colorectal cancer tissue (with26no liver metastasis and14liver metastasis tissue),colorectal adenoma, normal colorectal mucosa. we analyzed to demonstrate the correlationwith the histological grade, Dukes′stages, lymph node metastasis and liver metastasis.Results: The expression level of MACC1protein in colorectal adenoma mucosa and normalcolorectal mucosa were significantly lower than that in colorectal cancer. The expression ofMACC1protein in colorectal cancer with lymph node metastasis was significantly higherthan that with no lymph node metastasis. The expression of MACC1in colorectal cancerwith liver metastasis including synchronic hepatic metastasis and heterochronic hepaticmetastasis were significantly higher than that with no liver metastasis.Conclusions:MACC1protein plays a great role in the course of generation, developmentand liver metastasis of colorectal cancer. The high expression of MACC1protein incolorectal cancer tissue may be considered as an indicator for hepatic metastasis of colorectalcancer.
