Abstract


Besides the professional ability, career core competence is also theuniversal competence applied to every walk of life. Cultivating vocational art collegestudents’ core competence is very important for improving students’ professional skillsas well as social adapt ability, and for creating employment opportunities. Highervocational art colleges together with their teachers should adapt to social development,and explore new ways of cultivating students’ career core competence in teaching.This subject takes “integrating career core competence into the professionalteaching”as its breakthrough point and uses different investigations to find out theresearch status, main achievements, and available experience of career core competencecultivation at home and abroad, such as the documentary method, the questionnairemethod, the case law, etc. In combination with core competence cultivation of SichuanArt Vocational College, this subject also explores insufficiency and effectivecountermeasures in teaching.Primary research results show that Sichuan Art Vocational College is still dependedon sole content-based instruction and ignoring core competence cultivation. Meanwhile,the students’ practices and innovation abilities are not strong and they lack of sociallyadaptable capacities. A few professions even fail to attract students and the graduatesfind it difficult to hunt jobs and start another career.The reasons for above phenomena are that higher vocational art colleges still takethe old teaching model of ordinary arts colleges, do not emphasize to cultivate students’core competence and lack of teaching experience. At the same time, both students andtheir parents do not pay great attention to the cultivation of core competence.It is advocated that higher vocational art colleges should aim at integrating careercore competence teaching into the professional teaching, and positioning teaching andcurriculum modes. It is also suggested that colleges should set up an institution andoffer courses for career core competence teaching managements, optimize themulti-channel allocation of teachers, strengthen the importance of practice education,complete the teaching constructions, improve the qualities of practice training, and establish and implement a teaching tracking survey of the career core competence, etc.Some chapters are also mentioned in this article about the exploration on theformation of China’s core competence theory and key points on core competencecultivation.
