At the early stage of the People’s Republic of China, the Communist Party of China, for the sake of consolidation, industrialization, and socialization, extracted the experience of the mass movements formed in the Revolutionary War to approaches of social mobilization of the nation to arouse countrywide repercussions. Owing to the high ratio in the whole female population, the mobilization of rural women had been an indispensable element of the national social mobilization. In this paper, based on abundant historical archives, the author selects the co-operative movement in the field of agriculture in Xindeng county, which was once beautified as the "experimental zone" of Zhejiang province as a case, and focuses on the Agricultural Co-operative Movement. To clarify this problem, the author of this paper prudently singles out several perspectives on the mobilization of rural women, such as its social background, systematic establishment, the implementation in process, and finally, the effectiveness at last. After tracing the historical clues of the mobilization of rural women in the history of modern China, explaining its blasting fuses of it, this paper reveals how the state realized the systemization of rural women by means of the establishment and improvement of the political and democratic women’s federations and as well as the economic mutual-aid organizations. Furthermore, in this paper, the author on second thoughts uncovers the patterns that the state mobilized rural women on both levels of ideological cognition and productive practice, and he also keeps an eye on the typical examples between the two. On this basis, according to the economic role as well as the social status of the rural women, the author of this paper makes fairly well-grounded evaluations and critiques of the effects of this movement. At the end of this paper, the author inventively looks back upon the relationship between national mobilizations and female liberation.
