Executive Summary

Firstly, from 2000 to 2004 five -year relationship between the jet stream and storms were statistically and use MM5 model for April 2001 8 ~ 9 strong sandstorm during a numerical simulation and diagnostic analysis . Statistical results show that : with the jet stream is always accompanied by sandstorms occur ; rapids caused by dust storms can be divided into two categories: single -and double- jet jet type ; wide range of strong sandstorm accompanied with a double jet appeared ; sandstorm in southwest wind , northwest wind jet left and right rear . Statistics also found that there are some rapids rapids double mutation, sandstorms Rapids mutation on the occurrence and development has an important role . In the high-altitude jet stream moving process , the non- geostrophic wind component u-u_g determines two north-south direction of rotation jet axis . Two large values ??MPV1 positive vorticity region and the north and south two rapids have a good correspondence between the two , respectively, with two jet toward large values ??MPV1 positive vorticity contours dense area towards the south side of the same , dust storms occur in front of the high-latitude frontal eddy near the large gradient values ??and negative vorticity center MPV1 north .
