Abstract


With the development of smart grid, on the base of current automation substation, intelligent substation will be highly integrated, digitized, intelligent and standardized in the direction of unification, many new theories, new technologies will continue to emerge in the Intelligent Substation Research and construction. In response to these new theories and technologies, this paper proposes a new type of simulation to experimental platform, to evaluate and test them by simulation methods.In recent years, with the emergence of IEC61850, the promotion of digital substation, there has been study for the performance test of IEC61850 based substation communication, using OPNET or EPOCHS meanwhile, the relay test technology matures. This simulation technology in substation communication and protective relay test on the basis of technological development, drawing EPOCHS platform for the synchronization of electrical and communications simulation capabilities to OPNET’s co-simulation technology, to achieve synergy OPNET simulation with PSCAD.First, The overall framework of simulation platform for the intelligent substation is proposed, including the composition of simulation test platform, the platform principles of the various parts of the interaction, PSCAD how to synchronous with OPNET, Where to be used and the simulation process about the Platform.Then, the paper from the introduction of electrical and communication platform composed of two modules. Electrical modules proposed the electrical simulation modeling methods in PSCAD, including IED device which in the process level and bay level modeling principles; communication module describes the substation communication simulation in OPNET, proposed the modeling method of intelligent device about communication in OPNET, the Co-simulation technology of OPNET and Analyzed the data exchange principle with PSCAD.Secondly, the practical application for the platform, the test site IED equipment, proposed and designed the test interface based on WinPcap and the corresponding test methods.In conclusion, the using OPNET’s this co-simulation technology to achieve data exchange PSCAD with OPNET , Prove the correction and rationality of a new simulation platform for intelligent substation.
