Abstract


In nonlinear effects due to stimulated Brillouin scattering has the characteristics of a low threshold , such that it is most easily generated in the optical fiber . When SBS occurs in the optical fiber , it will change the energy distribution of the optical fiber , so that the output power of the optical fiber does not vary with the input power increases , leading to damage to the signal quality of the receiving end . It also will result in a bidirectional DWDM bit string , then , so that the signal is severely distorted . When occur dramatic SBS phenomenon , the vast majority of the input power will be converted to the backward Stokes , generating a giant pulse of the peak power . It be the light source and the fiber end face to cause some damage , but also impede the transmission of optical signals . Therefore, study of SBS in single-mode optical fiber has important research and application value . The generation mechanism , the basic characteristics of the papers of SBS in single-mode fiber , the threshold affecting factors, experimental design , optimization , and application outlook made ??system . The main contents are: ( 1 ) describes a the SBS generated single-mode fiber physical mechanism and its quantum description , then made ??a presentation of the basic characteristics of the SBS , particularly of its the threshold characteristics do a detailed statement and formula derivation .
