Abstract


The sensing element of a block of pure yttrium iron garnet crystals as optical fiber current sensor design and the performance of the various aspects of the theoretical research and experimental testing . Since pure yttrium-iron garnet crystal having a strong Faraday effect and a fast response characteristics , while at the same time this sensor also has a compact and sturdy structure and inherent electrical insulating properties , the the weak transient current of the sensor in the high voltage power system measurement , there will be a good prospect of application . Firstly, the starting point of the design project concise overview of current measurements on a variety of cutting-edge technology and the pros and cons comparison . Compared the performance of different materials, magneto-optical crystal , the thesis of this basic principle of the sensor described the need to pay attention on the design and assembly of a summary . Secondly, experimental study of the sensitivity of the sensor , hysteresis , temperature dependence , the research results show that the sensor has good linearity and fast response . In addition, the design of a sensor system consisting of four sensor heads to the sensor of the current-carrying conductor position dependent study . The results show that , in good agreement with the experimental measurements and theoretical calculations made ??. Finally, the design of a weak transient current measurement system specially optimized and the performance of this system was investigated experimentally . Studies show that this system is capable of measuring weak to transient current of 20 mA .
