With the constant development of sports informatization, the management information system’s application in school sports, athletics sports as well as social sports is more and more widespread. From unit system, system based on file/server mode, system based on client/server mode to system on browser/server mode, several kinds of management information system serve the sports management work at the same time. With the development of network technology, system based on browser/server becomes the mainstream of the present network system. But in fields of sports, the large management information system based on B/S mode is studied less. This has to a certain extent blocked the improvement of the integral level of sports informationized in our country. So it is necessary to carry on research to B/S management information system.This paper has first analyzed the relevant technology of sports management information system, especially carried on comparatively deep discussion to C/S and B/S mode, introduced the operation principles, the hierarchical structure as well as respective characteristic of two kinds of modes, analysize the pluses and minuses of two kinds of modes comparatively. Moreover, introduced in detail the database technology which has important position in management information system from three respects of database, data base management system and database system.Finally, from the angle of combining the management information resources of sports fields and advancing the whole process of sports informatization of our country, this paper constructed a sports management information platform based on B/S mode, and introduced in detail from the six respects of constructing goal, ensemble architecture, building technology, network system, database design and security. Next, according to the information platform which has been constructed, the paper analysized a concrete application embodiment—Social sports instructormanagement system from the respects of system architecture, database design, etc. The research draws the following conclusions:1 Traditional C/S mode has not adapted the actual sport management completely. B/S mode will be the developing direction in the implement of sports management information system. This mode will suit the distributional coordination work among different regions.2 At present, the applications of sport management information system has already obtained some achievements in our country, but compared with other domains, the development of sport management information system has a long way to go. The comprehensive utilization of existing infrastructure and the information resource, the integration of the management information system already built up, will be the focus of the development of sport informatization in future.3 This research constructs a kind of comprehensively sport management information platform based on B/S mode theoretically. This platform establishment on the foundation of existing sport management information system in athletic sports, social sports and school sports. Considered to the actual level of sport informatization in our country, the concrete implementation needs the enormous manpower, the material resources, the financial resource as well as the time.4 B/S mode already applied in implementation of social sports instructor management system. The promotion of this system will provide the better experience for this research.
