Abstract

Made a preliminary study of this thesis, the numerical solution of the Fokker-Planck equation . The first chapter introduces the Fokker-Planck equation and its theoretical background , the derivation of the Fokker-Planck collision term Landau form of a brief exposition of the basic idea of the numerical solution of Fokker-Planck equation and its research status . Chapter II Spectral discretization of Landau collision term , only to get rid of the difficulties brought about by the original collision term in both differential and integral , and strictly ensure the conservation of mass , and translated into a series of discrete convolution and, in order to facilitate the introduction of a fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm to calculate these discrete convolution . Meanwhile, the truncation error of this discrete format gives a simple numerical analysis . The third chapter describes the FFT and its various forms , detailed description of the three applications of the FFT algorithm in this paper . Chapter three velocity space under the premise of \
