Abstract

Inverse technique is to determine unknown causes based on observation of their effects, it has been applied to many fields of scientific research and engineering practice. Due to their intrinsic ill-posed and non-linear characteristics, the inverse problems are more difficult to solve than their corresponding direct problems. So, in this dissertation, the generalized integrated optimization, a recent advanced method, was applied to solve inverse problem of mechanic engineering.Firstly, on the basis of analyzing the theories of the inverse design and their present application status, the common problems in inverse design methods are discussed in detail from the view of combining the design methodology and inversion. Then, a universal program which aiming at mechanical design was presented by using the uGA and BCLSF as the main algorithm.Secondly, for the problem to get the exact structure parameters of mechanic products, a typical muffler was taken as example. On the basis of constructing the FEA model of muffler, the computational inverse technique was developed to characterize its’inner structure parameters and its’reliability was also validated.Lastly, on the basis of constructing the 3-RPS parallel robot simulating model using virtual prototyping technique, the inverse design program based on ADAMS was presented to determine the length parameters of rods, and its’feasibility was also discussed.Through description of the inverse technique based on general optimization, this thesis studied the reliability and feasibility of applying this technique to mechanical design. The analytical results indicated that this is a new and effective method for mechanical design.
