As the ideogram, Chinese characters, the toot of Chinese culture, are featured by the vision of planar pictures. Since ancient times, Chinese characters puzzle is one of the traditions of ’word play’ in China. It explains the Chinese characters by the way of the special symbol code, learning with fan. From the perspective of graphic design, this paper not only employs modern scientific methods such as philology, linguistics, semiology, logic, aesthetics and psychology, but also studies and explains the rules and features of puzzles of Chinese characters deeply and systematically from different respects and designs the practical work with puzzle vision. In addition, the paper emphatically analyses corresponding relationship between unconventional visional change of Chinese grapheme in puzzles and special logic thought of meaning of Chinese characters and thereby put the theory into instruction of the design of modern products and works. In the meantime, this study is expected to inspire the interests of learning and studying Chinese characters of designers, and explores possibility of application of Chinese characters in modern vision design from various aspects, so that the modern art design works with the spirit of Chinese culture can be created.
