In this paper, we focus on a new kind of TBT namely green package barriers to trade, and the influence they bring to the export of China.In section one, we carry out a brief summary of research papers about green package barriers to Trade and list some common views. In section two. on the basis of summary, we make a study of green package barriers’ connotation, and categorize by its different appearances. As a new type of TBT, green package barriers has many complicated characteristics, we make an explanation and summary of them, and then briefly introduce the green package rules in some developed countries. In section three, the theoretical analysis shows that the mechanism of action of green package barriers is a kind of complex action, this mechanism of action works through the price and amount of export goods. After this analysis, the advantages and disadvantages of green package barriers are deeply investigated, and show that the green package barriers have their dual character. Section four is the part of positive research, we count the numbers of the cases about other countries detained or recalled Chinese export goods and number of the times about TBT notification. By calculate the Frequency Ratio of HS codes which are involved by TBT notification, to show how much influence the green package barriers bring to the export of China. Finally, section five bases on the analysis and calculation, we put forward some methods from the export enterprise, the package industry and our government’s view, to minimize the influence to Chinese export.
