Abstract


With the preliminary establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).China Free Trade Area in 2010, China-the world’s largest consumption market with a population of nearly 18 million will bring new vitality of to the word economy.An economic district will take into shape here in China with gross production amounting to 6 trillion US dollar and trade volume totaling 4.5 trillion US dollar. In the plan of CAFTA, the agriculture is the one of the important cooperation field in five main areas. It is also the main region to cooperation and change between two sides.China and ASEAN have the same level and stage in economic development, so the bilateral trade relation maybe mainly competition. However, China and ASEAN are at different geographical location, differences in agricultural exports, which in turn led to the existence of China-ASEAN agricultural products, may be complementary.In this paper, the dissertation is based on the Comparison between China and ASEAN competitiveness of agricultural products with the Revealed comparative advantage and product similarity index. By studying the data can be found that competition in China’s agricultural products is gradually lost, while the ASEAN countries have a relatively strong competitiveness. In the process of economic development. In addition, this article analyzed the complimentarily between China and ASEAN, with trade complementarity’s index, he results show that trade between China and ASEAN complementarities although growing, but the extent is still not high. Finally, this paper puts forward some suggestions and measures to promote agricultural trade between China and ASEAN
