Abstract


Aralia elata Seem is a genus of Araliaceae family . Itsresource is very rich.It is most plentiful in the ChangbaiMountain of the northeastern part,which was broadly used inclinic medicine.In herbalist doctor and pharmacopoeiastudying, it is bitter and a little poisonous. Up to now from1950s, the research about the chemical components andpharmacological activites of rhizoma, cortices, leaves andburgeon of Aralia elata SEEM has been developing. Severalresearches have been reported by the researchers in formerSoviet Union, Poland and Japan, most of which are focusedon saponins. In recent decade, studies on Aralia elata SEEMhave been carried out further in our country. Many kinds ofhave been isolated from the rhizoma of Aralia elata SEEM, andthe structures have been identified by physicochemicalcharacter and spectral analysis,at the same time,the activeof each part and compounds have been researched.In thepresent work, we studied the characterzation of Aralia elataSEEM further on the basis of reviewing progress on studiesof chemical components and their biological activities.In this article, we isolated and purified the chemicalcomponents from the water extract of Aralia elata SEEMusing silica gel column chromatography and reversed phasesilica gel column chromatography.Eight compounds have beenobtained.We primarily identified six compounds accordingto the 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR dates.They are:I:3-O-{[β-D-glucopyranoayl(1→2)]-β-D-gluco-pyranoayl}-oleanolic acid-28-O-2-[6 ’ -ethyl-7 ’ -(5 ’’methylfuran-2-yloxy)]hepyloxy -β-D-glucopyranoaylesterⅡ:O(2-ethylhexyloxy)methylbenzene.Ⅲ:3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl hederagenin.Ⅳ:3-O-{β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→2)-[β-D-glucopyranosyl(1 → 3)]-β -D-glucopyranosyl}-hederagenin 28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester.Ⅴ:3-O-{[β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→2)]-[ β-D-glucopy-ranosyl(1→3)-β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→3)] β-D-glucopy-ranosyl}oleanolic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester.Ⅵ:3-O-{β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→2)-[β-D-glucopyra-nosyl(1 → 3)]}-β -D-glucopyranosyl}-hederagenin 28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester.We have been obtained eight kind of compounds from theleaves of Aralia elata SEEM,and ascertained six of them.Thisis the first report of the presence of compound I , Ⅱ , Ⅲ.At the same time , we studied the content andfingerprints of the Aralia elata Seem saponin ,comparingwith saponinX of Aralia elata Seem.What we have done willoffer the basic reaserch of component of Aralia elata Seemand the new medicine from it.
