Abstract

Due to restriction with the array aperture transition time, traditional phased array radar works under relative narrow signal bandwidth, so this restricts the application of phased array radar in the field where high performance is demanded. However, optically controlled phased array radar (OCPAR) adopts the photoelectron technology, counteracts the aperture transition time via the method of optical true time delay (OTTD), so it can realize wide instantaneous bandwidth and squint-free operation; meanwhile, it can realize the miniaturization of phased array radar and has super anti-electromagnetism interference capability. Consequently, OCPAR can satisfy the request of complete orientation and high performance, and it has become a major direction of phased array radar development. In this dissertation, the mathematic model of optically controlled phased linearity array is established by basic theory of phased array radar. The problems of instantaneous bandwidth of OCPAR and subarray number are researched, the relationship between the excursion of the direction pattern and subarray number, main lobe stretched-out of the direction pattern and bandwidth, side-lobe level of the direction pattern and subarray number, pulse compression and bandwidth, pulse compression and subarray number is analyzed. After corresponding simulations are done, a summary of advantages of OCPAR compared with the traditional phased array radar is presented. Moreover, in this dissertation, the scheme of the optical link of X-band OCPAR is discussed. The design for optical transmitter and receiver system, and the structure of optical true time delay line, and related components are described. This work would be helpful for realization of X-band phase array optical link.At last, the preamplifier of optical receiver, including the preamplifier’s parameter, the selection of circuit type and the design of the preamplifier is discussed. The related theories, methods and processes of amplifier design are introduced, and some simulations on the amplifier with ADS are done. A low noise amplifier with wider 1dB compression point is designed, the performance curves of the amplifier are shown.
