Abstract


The French economist Francois Perroux has propsed the Growth pole theory since 50 years last century, and after scholars’ expand and complement(Boudeville, Myrdal, Hirschman, Friedman etc.), it has been continuously developed. Both the developed and the developing countries, the Growth pole theory has played a significant role in guiding regional development planning. Chinese territory is vast, economic development obviously unbalanced. Since the reform and opening up, China’s regional economic development mainly adopted non-balanced economic development strategy.In 2008, the State Council approved BNA become the second supporting comprehensive reform experimental zone, after Shanghai Pudong New Area, BNA’s development is up to the national strategy. Bohai Rim will be the third growth pole after Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta, as the promotion of regional economic coordination, the engine driving economic growth in the North. BNA should seize the opportunity to give full play to its advantages, enhance its strength and use the opportunity to strengthen the cooperation of the Bohai Rim, the "Three North"areas and Northeast Asia. Integrate regional resources, promote the surrounding areas’ development.In general, the thesis is divided into the theory section and the case section. In the theoretical part, main systematically described on the theory of growth pole and the theory of regional economic development, discusses the formation, development, extension of the theory of the growth pole and carding the new development progress on regional economic theory. In the empirical part, analyzed the fundamental information of Tianjin Binhai New Area, study on the effectiveness of BNA in the different economic circle, and put forward the countermeasures to foster and implement growth pole strategy.
