Abstract


Most of the world’s developed regions gathered in the coastal areas, whether the east coast of the U.S, or the port industrial zone of Japan, or Hamburg port of Germany, which shows that the developed countries must realize mutual development between city and port. Tianjin Port is the largest port in north China and Tianjin City is the economical centre of north China, which has put forward higher requirements of mutual development between city and port. Therefore, this paper studies under a variety of factors how to make long-term mutual development between Tianjin City and Tianjin Port, to resolve the contradictions of mutual development between city and port, and to achieve development by leaps and bounds of Tianjin.This paper first introduces the theory of the regional economy and the economic interaction between city and port, in theory puts forward the basis for mutual development between Tianjin City and Tianjin Port. Then introduces the evaluation method of SWOT, analyses mutual development between Tianjin City and Tianjin Port, points out its external and internal factors of environment .We use the analysis method of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), EFE matrix and IFE matrix to find out the key factor for mutual development between Tianjin City and Tianjin Port.On the basis of the evaluation mode of the development strategic elements of the interactive relationship between Tianjin City and Tianjin Port.we present its development strategy and explore the development of this strategy in a deeper level, and finally make a summary and outlook.The development of interactive relationship between Tianjin City and Tianjin Port has some of typical significance in China. Through the study of the economic interaction between Tianjin City and Tianjin Port, on the one hand it guides the coordinated development of the interaction between Tianjin City and Tianjin Port, on the other hand it provides references for the realization of mutual development between city and port of other coastal cities in China.
