Abstract


One of the most important characteristic of Culture and art ideology of Confucius,who as a educationist and art critic,is how to educate and shape his all followers. This personality value haven’t been paid attention to by academic circles, though the Analects even have recorded. This paper attempts to summarize the personality theory of culture and art idea of Confucianism, explains "Chinese"which is portraying by his theory,and reveals the complexity and versatility of Culture-mental of his theory, thereby provides the historical reference and mental resources for the character re-construction in modern China.This paper is divided two chapters. The first chapter analysis the connotation of Confucianism that about the personality construction of "Chinese" from 4 aspects : suffer consciousness; art sprite;wise man’s suffering and happiness;gentle figure. The second chapter analysis the complexity of Culture-mental of Confucian theory from 3 aspects: practical rational; courtesy; sense of clan. At the last, it prospects for the significance of personality theory of Confucianism in 21 century China.
