Abstract


As rapid expansion of information and internet technology brings about profound changes into their business environment, manufacturers have undergone the peak stage of development by relying on the first source of scale-economy and the second source of advanced technology. Nowadays, it is quite hard to gain profit from the above two sources. So logistics has become the most hopeful process for manufacturers to reduce the cost and promote the profit. Currently, for reducing the logistics cost, promoting the third source and strengthening their core competitive edge, numerous manufacturers have already outsourced the logistics. If manufacturers can not efficiently recognize and control the logistics outsourcing risk, their logistics cost and core competitive edge will hardly be cut down and strengthened.This thesis studies the motivation of logistics outsourcing of manufactures, choices of strategic model, reorganization and analysis of various risks, performance evaluation of logistics outsourcing, as well as risk measures and so on. First of all, this thesis introduces the background of choosing this topic, its practical significance and also anal sizes the development and research status of logistics outsourcing at home and abroad. This thesis also has a brief introduction into the manufacturers’outsourcing scope, choices of outsourcing manners and logistics suppliers, building the cooperation model among manufacturers and their raw material and logistics suppliers as well as recognizing, dispersing and avoiding various risks during outsourcing.Moreover, combination with ISTC company’s case, it describes how manufacturers integrate their sources to develop the core business and strengthen the competitive edge in terms of strategy, organization and technology under the current competitive market.In conclusion, combination with ISTC Company’s case, with the purpose of making contributions to the development of manufacturer’s logistics outsourcing, this thesis gives a summary about domestic and international research on types of logistics outsourcing risk and risk control.
