Abstract

Diamond is an excellent multi-functional material that which with high hardness, low compressibility, fine chemical inertness, low dielectric constant, high band gap, excellent electron and hole mobility as well as high thermal conductivity. However, the high stability of the structures of sp3 Carbon bonds in the diamond film makes it difficult to form active surface so as to meet the needs as functional surface. To settle this issue, so this thesis studied three questions, such as the preparation of boron-doped diamond films, amino-modified boron-doped diamond thin films and the application of the amino-modified electrode. In the first instance the preparation of boron-doped diamond films was studied in this paper. BDD (Boron-doped diamond) can be used as electrode material, it has incomparable advantages of conventional electrode material. The BDD electrode has become the preferred electrochemical electrodes, because it has wide potential window, low background current, the inert physical adsorption, high chemical stability and other characters. There are many ways of the preparation of boron-doped diamond films. In this paper we will use the method of the hot filament chemical vapor deposition, and we will discuss the impact of the pre-treatment of the substrate, carbonization of tantalum wire and carbon concentration on the preparation of diamond films in the process in detail. On the basis of boron-doped diamond films were prepared by the hot filament chemical vapor deposition in this article, I modified the BDD films with amino. This method of chemical modification is in the hydrogen terminal surface of boron-doped diamond film modified the amino, which is not produce secondary pollution, high rate of modification, low equipment demanding, simple operation and low cost method. Finally, amino-modified diamond film surface was characteried by the XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy), by comparing the content of the nitrogen atoms of the samples before and after modification determine whether or not the amino to the samples surface. The amino-modified Ta / BDD (Tantalum / Boron-Doped Diamond) electrode was the same as the unmodified electrode has a wide potential window and low background current, this feature has clear advantages for the electrochemical detection. Tested by cyclic voltammetry of p-nitrophenol was found the reversible redox peaks in the amino-modified Ta/BDD electrodes, and the electrode passivation phenomena did not occur. The p-nitrophenol is easier to be degraded that which used the modified Ta/BDD electrode, so in the same conditions the p-nitrophenol can be degraded more efficiently with the smaller voltage. The application of the amino-modified Ta / BDD electrode, which save energy, more efficiently and made esily, will extensive.
