Information technology has been used widely in different fields of Power Supply Company, such as production, construction, management, scientific research, design, etc. It has achieved great social benefits and economic benefits in safe production, energy saving, cost reducing, shortening work terms and improving labor productivity. It has facilitated the development of Power Supply Company effectively.This paper combined with the establishment of management information system (MIS) of Changzhou Power Supply Company, gave a Power Supply Company’ s MIS frame model and total project; designed in detail and implemented the three subsystems of MIS: network system, host computer system, application system. At last, analyzed the running effects of Changzhou Power Supply Company’s MIS.This paper combined the information technology with the practice of management of Power Supply Company, it enriched the experience in the application of MIS construction in the branches of monopoly enterprises which is characterized by vertical management. It can be used as a reference for the same kind of company to improve its core competition ability through constructing and running MIS.
