PrefaceThe atherosclerosis (atherosclerosis, As) is one of the main disease harming health seriously. It’s forming include a series of pathology process, such as endothelial damage and disfunction expression of adhering molecular, releasing chemistry hastens the material, the white blood cell attaches, the oxidation low density lipoprotein is absorbed by the macrophage, foam cell formation, smooth muscle cells migration and multiplication and so on. Recently many research indicated the immunity and the inflammation participate in the atherosclerosis pathology process, CD40/CD40L (CD40/CD40 ligand) are a pair of supplementary trans membrane glycoprotein, are important signal system in immunity and the inflammation reaction, have the vital role in the atherosclerosis process.Carotid artery intermediate membrane thickness (IMT) is at present uses as one of important targets which appraises the early atherosclerosis to change, through to carotid artery super sonicinspection carotid artery internal intermediate membrane thickness thus reflection atherosclerosis target organ extent of damage.
