Optical illusion design as a kind of art form, populated in the 1960s, is the combination of science and art. Influenced by various trends of art (especially optics art), breaking through traditional aesthetic viewpoint and the aesthetic principles, it presents the complexity of the artistic style and form. Optical illusions design is in widely used in modern fashion design now because of its unique artistic charm. In the 21st century, with the social progress, diversity of consumer demand , development of science and technology ,unique cultural connotation and visual morphological characteristics of optical illusions design is recognized. The design becomes more multivariate, more colored, and more modern. In the fashion field, optical illusion design becomes popular element and most important forms of expression because it can convey a kind of brand-new values, and popular among young people. This article begins from illusion design concept. Through the theoretical study, we analysis the creation principle of optical illusion design, and summarize the art characteristic of optical illusions design. We review the social background, constitute manifestation and the market demand when optical illusions artistic style formed in 1960s. Finally, through analysis of optical illusions design and the integrated application of modern fashion design, we mastery its cultural connotation and spiritual values; make them more close to the modern social aesthetic demand and market demand. The emphasis and difficulty of this paper lies in how to combine the background, consumer demand, and the characteristics of optical illusions design, and analysis the application characteristics and development tendency of optical illusions design in the dress designing.
