Abstract


There are a great deal of factors between the architecture environment and furniture environment which interact, restrain, and affect with each other. So, from systematic view, we have to admit that these two environments are part of environment system. With this agreement, we could easily find out that if we want to create a good environment for our working and living, we should try to regard them as a whole and try to keep balance between these two parts.Unfortunately, in these days, without serious research in the interaction between interior environment and integrated furniture design the interior and furniture design could be blend into each other as we expected. In this thesis, the author tries to find out the real relationship between them by starting with clarifying the basic concepts of the architecture, the space and the environment. At first, by contraction the meaning between architecture and furniture, the author finds out that they are not only based on the same culture but also shared the technologies. Moreover, the author even concludes that they are compensated with each other in their spatial functions and paralleled in their presentation. Then we come to a conclusion which could be used as a methodology to find out design methods in which furniture roles varies in designated environment.Furniture is the compensation of the interior environment. When we try to design furniture, we should start with the interior space analysis then take into consideration of proportion, material, color and decoration which are key factors in deciding visual form of furniture. After achieving these, the last step is to make sure that our designs are satisfying the visual, functional and cultural requirement at the same time. In a word, the qualifying of space, the re-creating of space, the creation of spatial mood and introducing of living form are the fundamental elements of crating pleasure interior environment.
