Abstract


Today ultrasonic machining is a good method to machine hard and brittle material, such as glass, diamond, engineering ceramics. But the traditional ultrasonic machining method only can be used to drill hole and copy machining. It can’t satisfy the need of modern machining because the structure of work is very complex and it need multi-axis harmonious motion to machine some complex surface. This thesis studied the control and design of ultrasonic machining, integrated a set of CNC system of ultrasonic machining.Numerical Controlled Ultrasonic Machining System called the distributed-dual CPU structure adopts the industry PC (IPC) and programming multiple-axis controller (PMAC);IPC and PMAC are the control center of the system which completes Panasonic AC servo motor, servo control units and encoders etc; and the software CNC system is developed with Visual C++6.0 in operation system of Windows2000. In order to realize the function of PMAC multiaxial movement, relevant I/O commutators were enlarged in PMAC board. The development of CNC system consists of PMAC its own hardware and software. An open-architecture hardware system and software system are mainly separated into some function modules with standard interfaces. These function modules will work coordinately. The CNC system discussed in this paper is a real time and multitask control system. It can deal with coding interpretation, servo control and system management simultaneity and process various model high pressure the hard and brittle material. At the same time, Not only the kernel controller of CNC system based on PMAC can adjust AC servo motor PID and operate PLC program, moving program, PID program, but also can shorten the exploitive cycle, achieving resource rational configuration. So the CNC developer and the customer can increase or decrease the function modules according to their requirements, and bring their technologies, experiences and skills into the open CNC.Utilizeing the CNC system of ultrasonic machining, the author carried on primary experiment, discussed the effect of machining pressure brought by the Z- axes feed or X-axes speed. All those are the base of further research.
