Abstract

Seed crystal decomposition process is the longest step (typically 36-72h) in the Bayer process production, the efficiency of decomposition of the sodium aluminate solution is low, much lower than the decomposition rate can theoretically reach the colors of stars decompose become a \Industrial strengthen the main method of the decomposition process of the seed crystal is committed the reduce dissolution semen molecular ratio of αk, purifying the solution to remove impurities such as organics, but there are great difficulties in their realization. Therefore, how to adopt new techniques and methods to identify a simple, economical and feasible way to increase the sodium aluminate solution decomposition process, shorten the decomposition time, improve the rate of decomposition, to enhance the efficiency of the production cycle, for alumina production enterprises have obvious practical significance. In this paper, the premise does not change the existing alumina production processes, the use of oil-soluble organic additive to strengthen the seed precipitation, increase the rate of decomposition of sodium aluminate solution. Laboratory pilot study screened from the G series, H series and F series additives Additives for alumina production in China H1-2, identified using the Add method, and through five months of semi-industrial magnify test further validate its application. The main results are as follows: by Two-slot test, Sec Act cycle test and a section of a single-slot test in the laboratory through the use of results of each series of additives were compared. Studies have shown that H Series additives can improve the precipitation ratio. In the decomposition 15h 10ppmH1-type additives, allows sodium aluminate solution decomposition rate of 1.03% -3.90%, and the decomposition products of aluminum hydroxide particle size is essentially the same; G Series additive decomposition rate increased by 0.12% - 0.91%, and to make decomposition products aluminum hydroxide particle size increased by 4.33% -12.55%; F Series additives not improve the precipitation ratio. Semi-industrial tests showed that in the case of substantially identical process conditions of temperature, solids, flow, etc. H1-type additives added to the beginning of the test phase 10ppm, the equilibrium period Add 6 ppm, its decomposition rate of the sodium aluminate solution than the blank test increased by 1.74%, which further proof additives H1-2 to enhance the effect of the decomposition of the seed crystal. Additive, the strength of the alumina significantly better than the blank, the wear index 10.4% lower than the blank; alumina particle size is essentially the same. The same time, the pilot phase, the additive to be added is not an adverse effect on the Bayer process flow.
