Abstract
|
License plate character recognition is the last part of the license plate recognition system requirements quickly and accurately identify the license plate image divided a single character , and character recognition results are directly related to the success or failure of the entire license plate recognition system . However, due to the special nature of the license plate image , easily influenced by the camera shooting angle , the character image will inevitably skew deformation . The general character recognition algorithms are not a good solution to tilt the identification of the license plate characters , in the identification of the inclined character must first through tilt correcting this step, the tilt correction effect is often has a great influence on the final recognition result . This paper presents a new method - recognition algorithm based on projective invariant , precisely from the viewpoint of a three-dimensional object can be any perspective 2D image recognition , that is, it can not after tilt correction directly identify the skew deformation of character . It uses the geometric shape of the license plate characters , to extract a feature point from the outline of the character figure , and then each point coordinates of each character image is calculated projective invariants as an identifying feature , and then through to be the recognition character feature invariant template characters characterized invariant match , can achieve an accurate identification of the characters . The experimental results show that the method is feasible and effective .
