Abstract

With the rapid development of China’s economy, the demand of electricity is also increasing,in order to meet the demand of sustainable development, the devolopment of clean energy has become a trend. The offshore wind resource is very rich,so offshore wind power has been an emerging industry. However, the geolog -ical conditions at sea is poor because of distributing in deep mud and silt soil which will make the construction foundation has much deformation, that can not meet the requirement of engineering. Therefore the foundation should be solidified before the application for construction. At present, the most popular method is vacuum preloading, which has been widely used in Ports, terminals and other practical works, all of which get a better reinforcement effect.Based on former research and some indoor experimental data,we propose a method of treating bucket foundation suction on soft ground in this paper. Combination of experimental data we research the change laws of vacuum degree,pore-water pressure and the settlement deeply by theoretically analyzing and numerically calculating. The main contents of the research are as follows:The major mechanisms of vacuum consolidation is defined as the action of atmosphere after analyzing the results of some tests. The paper also deduces the expl -anation of“vacumm degree”and the concept of“vacuum seeping field”,and compare the method of treating bucket foundation suction and ordinary vacuum preloading.Based on the reduced scale experiment in the laboratory, this paper has summarzied experimental results of cone penetration test and the laws ofsettlement. We can make a conclusion from the analysis result that treating soft silt ground with bucket foundation suction was very efficient. On the basis of Biot’s consolidation theory, this paper summaried the fundamental equations of seepage and consolidation analysis of vacuum preloading, and use ABAQUS,a general purpose finite element program to simulate and analyse the indoor experimental reduced scale model and the real engineering model. When simulating the soil consolidation process under vacuum preloading on soft silt ground, the paper uses the Mohr-coulomb plasticity model. We discussed comprehensively the calculating results ,including the vertical and lateral deformation characteristics of the foundation in the area of negative pressure, and the influence of vacuum degree. The results show that the foundation deformation raise with the increase of negative pressure value, and the transmission of negative pressure along depth and width is in a certain range. The lateral deformation arises to the maximum at the edge of the medial cylinder. After the vacuum removed, the vertical and the lateral deformation have some certain rebound. The paper also compares the finite analytical of the experimental reduced model to the experimental data. Finally, the bucket foundation suction treatment of the wind field in Rudong Jiangsu was analyzed by the comparison to the experimental model. It verify the efficient of the numerical analysis.
