Abstract


Cities plane mode is the basic urban design space material . The rational use of these planar model is based on the understanding plane mode of geometric elements reflect the spatial characteristics . As the birthplace of the urban planning in Europe in the 19th century has been the development of the rich urban plane mode and planning theory , and the origin and foundation of the modern urban planning theory . Therefore, these planar mode trying to seek from the ancient cities in Europe in the 19th century social and cultural roots and space. The author attempts to analysis by the European ancient social analysis and urban , to extract typical geometric urban plane , space morphological classification according to the geometric characteristics , and by further extraction of geometric elements and analog character traits and application of a variety of space skills. The paper attempts to form his own opinion classification by the overall balance of the space elements and social elements . This paper is divided into three parts , the first part of the statement of the contents of the study , the way , innovation , and organizational structure . The second part of the analysis of ancient Greek, Roman , medieval , Renaissance , Baroque and other cultural and social background of the period , ideological and cultural identity and urban theory . The third part of the extract typical representative and later generations of urban design influential cities plane mode to break the constraints of age , according to the the social intent behind contains geometric elements , these flat- mode in accordance with its spatial characteristics of the similarities and differences into four types : grid city , to the heart of the city , the irregular grid tied to heart type centrifugal city , and each plane mode detailed geometric analysis . The fourth part of the analysis of the character of the four types of cities plane mode , in order to guide us in the correct application of these elements in urban design .
