Abstract


World cultural convergence caused by globalization and the increasingly close international exchanges to promote foreign design firms in China appeared in large numbers. The emergence of outside design firm is not just an industry phenomenon, through three decades of reform and opening up the road, it can also be seen as a refraction of the evolution of Chinese society. After decades of development, offshore design has become a common phenomenon in the Chinese construction industry. This phenomenon has also become insiders and foreign scholars in recent years to study and discuss the hot topics. Papers by overseas firms in the three stages of the development process of review and combing, and its positive impact on urban development in China, as well as the development of the construction industry in China and the significance. Analyze and summarize the status quo for foreign firms in China's architectural practice, the development of the offshore firm characteristics; and Atkins firms, for example, analysis of the design features and localization strategy. It can be seen that the introduction of foreign firms has a positive significance, there are also some negative effects. Design practices of foreign firms in China, and some in the industry caused by the widely questioned; limited government policy conditions, in particular the professional and technical qualifications constraints as well as the social and cultural background differences, foreign firms in China's development, is facing numerous obstacles, enterprises and domestic design, also encountered a lot of embarrassment. Through in-depth investigation and profiling of these phenomena, it is conducive to a sober look at the overall level of China's construction industry, good for the future development of China's construction industry thinking. Compared with foreign firms active in China, yet few Chinese Mainland architect or architectural design firms to go abroad to other developed countries, the architectural practice. Foreign firms operating mechanism, management philosophy, sparked our architects practicing system, as well as domestic design agency reform-depth reflection and discussion. Help our architectural design firms more actively participate in international competition, cooperation, learning, and further improve the theory and practice of China's architectural design; enhance the level and status of our architects to promote them actively and pragmatically to participate in international exchanges and competition; seize the Chinese economy is on the rise, urban construction is booming overseas markets yet to open up the opportunity to strive to make China's architectural design in the world market place.
