Purpose : observation conjunctivochalasis the clinical characteristics and histopathological changes , explore its the pathology grading and significance . Methods: The clinical observation of conjunctivochalasis 26 patients ( 35 eyes) , summarized the clinical features ; pathology analysis with a control group of 20 patients ( 32 eyes) with simple cataract or vitrectomy surgery in patients with conjunctival using HE, EVG staining, Masson trichrome stain and Gomori 's aldehyde fuchsin staining method to observe the pathological changes of the two groups . Results: ball conjunctivochalasis predilection in the elderly population , no gender differences , the common symptoms of epiphora , dryness, foreign body sensation , tingling , burning sensation , conjunctival relaxation accumulation formed between the eye and the lower eyelid , external canthal folds, abnormal ocular surface tear dynamics . Patients with conjunctivochalasis conjunctival squamous cell hyperplasia , parakeratosis , basal cell pigmentation , lamina propria hemorrhage , infiltration of inflammatory cells , elastic fibers , collagen fibers decreased , compared with the control group , P lt; 0.05, with a significant difference . Conclusion : the pathogenesis of conjunctivochalasis is may be reduced with the elastic fibers and inflammatory cell infiltration . General classification on the the pathological conjunctivochalasis characteristics can be better with the clinical classification , helps to reveal the pathological features , pathological mechanism and disease transfer process , the clinical classification .
