Abstract

This thesis is divided into four sections: On the first section, we mainly introduced the theories which our work is based on. Firstly, We made a conceptual introduction to the theories of low temperature plasma and Field-emission including metal field-emision and semiconductor field-emission. we had a detailed discussion on the Research on properties and Field-emission of carbon materials. At last, an introduction to the progression of the field-emission materials. On the second section , Anodic Aluminum Oxide (AAO) was fabricated and token. Firstly, the technics、structure and mechanism of AAO was introduced. The style of AAO was divided into KHR, ternary-structure and colloid. We have prepared porous alumina templates using oxalic acid as electrolyte. The membrane prepared through a two-step oxidation process has regular-arranged nanopores. In the end. FESEM was employed to characterize the AAO.On the third section, we introduced some work that we experiment. Firstly, we described the equipment of FACP. Secondly, the course of the experiment was introduced and samples Were pretreatmented including target, template and substrate. The forth section is data analysis part, as well as the main part of this thesis, including a detailed discussion on construction. FESEM, Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS) were employed to investigate the sample; Filed emitting of the nanodot arrays was found to have an extremely low turn-on field and high current density by the Filed emitting tester. In our work, we made good use of the peculiarity of FCAP technique: The particles of deposition films in FCAP were mainly composed of high ionized pure ions, which of better surface migration and were advantageous at depositing high quality films on the substrate with complex surface morphology. Cu-doped diamond-like carbon nanodot arrays with excellent field emitting had been fabricated firstly on the AAO template by the filtered cathodic arc plasma technique. Microscopic analysis has displayed that the nanodots were very uniformly distributed; Filed emitting of the nanodot arrays was found to have an extremely low turn-on field by the Filed emitting tester, which was lower than other reported materials, and a high-emission current density under an applied field of 1.0V/μm can also be obtained.
