Abstract


ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical features of the respiratory failure as main performance of Hypothyroidism. To raise the understanding of clinician to the respiratory failure induced by hypothyroidism and reduce misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis, increase salvage success rate.MethodWe retrospectively reviewed date on 3 patients who were diagnosed as respiratory failure induced by hypothyroidism, analyzed the clinical presentation, laboratory data ,treatment and curative effect.Result3 patients (2 male, 1 famale) all suffered from hypothyroidism and type 2 respiratory failure. After treatment ,2 male were completely cured and 1 famale had to take bronchotomy. ConclusionHypothyroidism combining with the respiratory failure has a sudden onset, it could be reversed with early and proper treatment.Eendotracheal intubation should be carried out and mechanical ventilatory support should be instituted in time when hypothyroidism combining with the respiratory failure ,it could improves symptom quickly .The earlier treatment of L-T4 may be good for to pull out tube in early days, strengthen comprehensive treatment would raises salvage success rate.
