Abstract

In this paper, the authors cited a large number of examples of the past two decades the Chinese New Words, from the perspective of cross-cultural communication of Chinese New Words and Their Translation. Translation is an important cross-cultural communication activities, communication bridge between different cultures. However, cultural personality, derived from a large number of the cultural limitations word to smooth exchange and translation between cultures poses a barrier. China has a long history of civilization, has a brilliant culture, record, save, and reflect the countless words of these unique Chinese culture. Since the reform and opening up, with the continuous development of China's political economy and culture, reflecting the growing number of China's unique culture words, to explore the translation of these words has important practical significance. The vocabulary is the most active part of the language. A new product, a new invention, a new song, a new TV series or a new event will inject new blood to the vocabulary. In one sense, the new word is like a mirror, through which one can observe the social changes that occur in a country. New words in Chinese, Western readers can learn about the latest developments in China. Therefore, the English translation of the Chinese New Words play an important role in China's foreign exchange. More and more frequent exchanges with China and the world, the translation of Chinese New Words become more important. In this paper, based on the translation theory and practice, a large number of examples of news media as the basis for linguistics, cross-cultural communication and exchanges with the outside point of view of the English translation of the Chinese New Words scientific system to Chinese new word translation some of the problems of translation strategies. The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter introduces the status of new words, the purpose and significance of the study of new words, new words in the last two decades a large number of the translation of research results. The second chapter the authors explore a new definition of the word, classification, characteristics and main source of new words. The third chapter discusses the relationship of cross-cultural communication and translation of Chinese New Words. The authors point out that some of the problems that exist in the current Chinese New Words Translation to explore methods to solve these problems at the same time. The fourth chapter is the core of this paper. In this chapter, the authors analyzed the Chinese New Words Translation principles and common strategies. The fifth chapter is the conclusion, the authors pointed out that the four points: 1. Chinese translation of the word not only require a translator proficient in English and Chinese bilingual, also requires a comprehensive knowledge, especially knowledge of Chinese and English culture. The translator must constantly improve their proficiency in Chinese and English language, have more cultural knowledge. 2. The translator should not blindly accept, but should be critical of the existing or Chinese-English Dictionary translation, analysis and constructive attitude. 3. Translator keen cultural awareness to discover the identification of new words, care should be taken to translate new words. 4. The translator needs to carefully pour cut the English translation of the Chinese New Words, multi-translation practice, and further improve their translation skills. We hope that the English translation of Chinese New Words can have a good reference value.
