Abstract


Objective : To investigate the transcription factor Twist and epithelial adhesion molecule E-cadherin in human liver bile duct cell carcinoma , paraneoplastic and expression in normal bile duct tissue and its significance . Methods: 2008-01/2009-03 Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology , Affiliated Union Hospital hepatobiliary surgery and pancreatic surgery center surgical resection of the bile duct cell carcinoma , 49 cases of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, ICC) 29 cell carcinoma of the extrahepatic bile duct (extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, ECC) 20 cases ; another 24 cases of cancer adjacent tissues (ICC and ECC 12 cases ) , 20 cases of normal bile duct tissue as a control . Twist and E-cadherin expression , immunohistochemistry assay to analyze the clinical and pathological significance . Results : Twist protein expression in ICC and ECC significantly stronger than the adjacent tissues or normal bile duct ( 79.31% 80.0% vs20.83 % , 15.0% , all P lt ; 0.05) ; E- cadherin expression in ICC and ECC weaker than the adjacent tissues or normal bile duct tissue ( 44.83% , 40.0 % vs 95.24 % , 100 % , P lt; 0.05 ) between the two groups expressed significant differences ; Twist and E-cadherin expression in cholangiocarcinoma highly negative related ( r = 0.67 , P lt ; 0.01) ; Twist protein expression levels , age, gender , and pathological grade ( P gt ; 0.05 ) and CA19-9 level , tumor invasion and lymph node metastasis ( P lt ; 0.01). Conclusion : Twist and E-cadherin the unusual expression with the development of cholangiocarcinoma ; Twist may be involved in the process of invasion and metastasis of cholangiocarcinoma .
