“Chinese migrant workers”, refers to the farmer workers or peasant workers, specifically means rural registered residence labor force that depart from rural land and area, engaging in non-agricultural profession in urban area. Since Reform and Opening-up Policy has been carried out, migrant workers grew and thrived to about 242 million. As a huge group of labor force, migrant workers made a great contribution to our country’s modernization and urbanization, whereupon they are becoming the crucial basic governance of the Communist Party of China and important group in harmonious society.Marxist Hominology argues that human essence is the dialectically unit of human nature and its realistic essence from Philosophy-anthropology and philosophy-sociology aspects, and considers that realistic-specific human, under social relations carries human essence, namely human’s activity with consciousness, creativity and sociality. Thus, Marxist human dignity, in a word, is human essence is confirmed, specific means human basic needs, values and rights must be got respected and fulfilled. Only when all needs including material, spiritual needs such as respect of security and self-realization needs are satisfied can human dignity be maintained. So“migrant workers’human dignity”probably means : no matter as an individual, or as a group, migrant workers, as human beings, migrant workers’essence is confirmed, and they have inviolable rights, inalienable will and insurmountable status, compared with other materials and life forms. Every single migrant worker (a group of workers), to be a“real person”, has (a kind of) human beings’own undeniable basic needs, intrinsic values and deserving rights, which should be respected by other people, group, or things of human natures, regardless of the gender, age, educational background, family background, registered residence, occupation, social status, and property. The migrant workers’human dignity is the integration of the dignity of an individual and the group of the migrant workers. Based on the fully understanding of the definition of the migrant workers’human dignity and their deserving needs, the author summers up two major achievements, meanwhile, some problems still need to be settled and three main reasons. As far as the author concerned, the following three countermeasures are necessary: Firstly, take practical education and publicity measures to strengthen attention of Chinese migrant workers’human dignity in the whole society; Secondly, energetically implement the core element of scientific development concept --- the people-oriented principle in labor practice; Thirdly, innovate migrant workers management service and system design, establishing a harmonious labor relations. Thus, improving the migrant workers’human dignity can be conducted through protecting their rights.This essay attempts to make some innovation in the following aspects: dig and clarify basic ideas of human dignity on the basis of Marxism and Marxist Hominology, and combine with the concrete issue of the maintenance of migrant workers’human dignity; make some discussion and deep analysis of present situation, problems and causes of the maintenance of Chinese migrant workers’human dignity, then give a creative definition on the basic meaning and characteristics of migrant workers’human dignity, In this case, we can put forward some corresponding improving countermeasures.
