Abstract


This paper, being an applied philosophy problem - solving research, using the scientific methodology of Marxist unity of history and logic, standing on the combination of the latest achievements of historical philosophy and scientific philosophy in the past century, aims at exploring and sifting out the history of management. The researcher hopes, by applying the methodology of logics, to restructure the logic frame which will be able to reflect appropriately the developing course of the management thoughts in the western world. The research not only give the abstract outline of the dialectical development of management thoughts, but also reveals the inherent foundations of the development of management thoughts, and open up a way for modern management theories to walk out of the theoretic jungle.On account of the originality of methodology, the paper has basically worked out the problem to theorize the history of management thoughts. The most distinguished achievements of the paper are that it has given a logic form to represent the process of management thoughts on the basis of generalizing the categories and concepts of history of management thoughts, and has promoted up the management thoughts to the theoretical level.By the "specific revealing ", the paper not only has got a clear command of the threads of developing stages of management thoughts in the western world, but also has highlighted the characteristics of main schools of management at different times, based on which the four stages of management thought s are divided, including the efficiency philosophy of the classic management theories with the objectivity on the supremacy, the behavior philosophy of the neo - classic management theories with the subjectivity on the supremacy, the system philosophy of modern management theories with the unity of the subjectivity and objectivity, the originality - seeking philosophy of post - modern management theories with the returning of the subjectivity. The philosophical division history of management thoughts, here,compared with the history of management thoughts, is certainly another contribution of the paper.At last, we look forward to the future of the philosophy of management.
