The motivation is the internal forces and mechanisms that promote and sustain the learning activities of students . Many psychologists and educators have noted the important role played by the motivation of this psychological phenomenon in student learning . Piano learning , motivation also plays a very important role . I have long been engaged in piano teaching , learning the theory of music education and educational psychology , piano motivation has a very important significance . In this paper, based on the review of the Western theory of motivation , using the questionnaire method , characteristics of motivation to learn piano for children and college students as well as the reasons for a systematic analysis of the formation of such features . Analysis , children or college students , both internal motivation and external motivation in the process of learning the piano , but the dominant external motivation in children learning the piano , and internal motivation in college students learning the piano dominates is the type of motivation . The strength of the motivation , the children 's motivation is stronger than the adults. And both areas as the piano by age growth there are significant changes . In addition, adult children and _ piano learning level of aspiration and Attribution analyzed and compared.
