Abstract


The extension of commercial production represented by cotton in North China during the first 30 years of the twentieth century broke through the category of men tilling the land and women weaving, and began to relate to the market. In order to increase income, the peasants upgraded the breeds, extended the growth areas and improved output. But due to various disadvantages, this commercial production couldn’t develop smoothly. This thesis is to review the situation of growth of cotton in North China, and to provide reference for the settlement of farmers, agriculture and countries.At the first place, the treatise discusses the circulations of the production of cotton in North China before the twentieth century, pointing out that it had regional advantage and some change because of the impact of voile and cloth coming from foreign countries. It mainly refers to the punch of the manual-cotton-textile industry, however, due to the objective social conditions, the influence of the North China manual-cotton-textile industry is not strong. Secondly treats the embodiment of the commercial development of the growth of cotton in North China and analyses the simulative of it during the first 30 years of the twentieth century. At the same time gives a review to the embodiment of cotton commoditization development. In addition, sees about the actuality of the commercial production of cotton in North China, and points out the disadvantages of it. Which includes the seriousness of the agricultural product conditions, and deterioration of the financial situation, and the cotton price what the farmers gained is not reasonable. Lastly summarizes the traits and influence of it, and proposed the inspiration it brought to us. The author considerers that to develop the crops having high proceeds and exert the regional advantage are the main approach to increase the income of peasants. Meanwhile the commercial development of the primary products needs a series of condition related and getting support from many walks of the society is one of the conditions that can accelerate the development or agriculture.
