Abstract


This paper introduces the structure, basic principle and ideal frequency spectrum , of direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDS), some sources of output spurious signals in DDS and some methods to improve the output signal. In the light of those above all, the paper brings forth the design of an intermediate-frequency digital modulator unit.First, The thesis adopts a PLL frequency synthesizer stimulated by DDS and provides the specific frequency synthesis program and the circuits. The synthesizer proves to reduce the spurious effectively and to satisfy the different frequency needs of more than one modulator.Second, three types of modulators (TC, LRIT and SV) for three different purposes and with different ways of modulation are designed in the thesis based on the account of DDS’s advantages including various modulation, flexible control and easy synthesis, and disadvantages as well as feasibility. Their realization circuits are also given.Finally, an intermediate-frequency digital modulator unit, whose system reliability is enhanced by redundancy design, is brought forth based on the above work. The thesis continues to explicate and test the system (the test spectrum is given) and present an optimized plan.The research provides theoretical and technical reference to the better use of DDS to realize modulation of various ways and the realization of highly precise and lowly-hash frequency synthesis.
